Sit in His Presence

Dear Lord,

I was so thrilled when I was at the Family Christian store, shopping for a new journal, and stumbled upon one that was stuck in the back. I know you were speaking to me as I read, “Be Still and Know That I Am God,” for it took almost twenty minutes to pick one out. It is a great reminder to know it’s okay to be still.

The Lord wants us to be still more so that we can hear from Him, know His voice, and make godly choices. He wants us to be guided by His spirit, to know his peace and joy.

My mind, Lord, has been in too many places today, listening to the many lies. I refuse to go back into comparing mode, judging myself and questioning life; your will. I cast these burdens on you, for in your word it is written:

Give your burdens to the Lord, and He will take care of you. Psalms 55:22

Do you have a burden to cast? The Lord is waiting to catch it!

As I allowed my thoughts and decisions to confuse and torment me, I was comforted by your spirit. I sat still and allowed you to take my burdens and show me the way.

I thank you, Lord, that on that night I was able to have a restful night’s sleep, as I was preparing to go back into the workforce. I did not have to be anxious, for your word also teaches me to be anxious for nothing. I’m so glad you always have my back!

I felt mentally and physically ready to step back into the workforce–only by your strength can I do all things! I know that when I am walking in your will, there is no confusion, but only peace to take me to the next step. Glory be God!

I thank you, Lord, that over the years you have taught me to sit still and be in the present moment. It can be so hard with the distractions of life, but oh so peaceful. There is nothing greater for me than to be honored to sit in your presence.

From God:

My child, my child. Stop worrying, stop judging yourself or the outcome. Relax and enjoy! All things are working out according to my will. Know the plans I have for you. Keep the faith and have the hope.

What is God speaking in your life? Sit quietly today and see what He has to say. I love to journal to Him and then sit quietly, waiting for His response. He wants you to talk to Him as you would a friend. Take the opportunity to sit in His presence, even if it’s for five minutes. The joy you will find.

Blessings,

Jill
