Turn those negative thoughts over to God

I have been going back in my old journals to see how far I have grown or if there is anything I feel lead to share. When I came to October 29th, 2013, I found myself in complaining mode and not feeling grateful for the things I did have. I was struggling at the time with having to work nights and weekends missing out on the kid’s soccer games or cuddling with them at night. Although I did feel blessed by my job I was allowing the negative thoughts in my head to bring me down.

Those negative thoughts can be crippling at times, and when we allow them to, they can bring a stormy cloud of darkness. I have learned over the years to rebuke those thoughts and replace them with good thoughts. It takes work and displine but it gets so much easier. Writing post it notes of encouragement and scriptures so you can memorize them and call on them when needed. Placing them all around the house is great to help reprogram our thoughts.

When I journal, I write to the Lord and address them “Dear God” (It’s a way I pray to him). When I am done sharing I sit quietly to hear what God has to say. I title it from God that  night this is what he shared:

From God:

My child I know you are hurting and feel lost. I know you need to lean on me, know that you can! Stop trying to figure it all out. Be still and know that I am the Lord your God who loves you no matter what. I will never leave you and my plan is so much greater then yours.

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:11–13, NIV.

Know that you have the strength to do anything. I am so proud of you and how today you held your tongue and went with the flow and you conquered the day with Joy!

I also love this scripture

Isaiah 26:3 : You will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you because he trust in you.

A prayer I wrote to God:

Dear Lord,

Help me to serve only you. To serve you with all that I am. I surrender every part of me especially my thoughts. I find freedom in you and in my mind when my thoughts are on you and only you. Teach me to be truley satisfied in only you not in the wordly things I think I need. To not be tempted in my flesh. Thank you Lord for protecting and guiding me and helping to keep my mind on you. Teach me to walk in your will always. To see with your eyes and hear with your ears!

Keeping our minds on christ helps to keep us centered and not allow those negative thoughts to get the best of us. If you have a daily devotion and you can take 5 min of your morning to read it will help start your day and thoughts off right.

My prayers and blessings for you is to Love the Lord with all your heart, all your mind and all your soul!

Blessings,

Jill

I really like the formatting of your post. The headers and bold text allow it to be an easy read.
