He Goes Before Us

Have you ever been afraid to take a step, to leap into a new adventure? Maybe it’s a new job. Maybe you feel alone, are recently divorced, or are confused, and you’re asking God what His will is for you in a certain circumstance.

Know that Deuteronomy 31:8 says:

The Lord Himself goes before you and will be with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.

How comforting it is to know He has gone before me to prepare the way! I hope it is comforting for you as well! Knowing that He is with me when I am willing to surrender all; I have more peace and joy in my life.

When I am willing to follow rather than lead, when I am willing to give up the control and allow God to have control over my life–just like a parent knows best for their child, God knows best for us.

I’m also comforted to know that I am not alone. That God is guiding me and holding my hand every step of the way. There are times when I’m stepping into something new that I have to stop and say:

“Lord, it’s me and you. I know you are with me. Give me the courage and strength I need to walk in your will.”

To do my job,

To overcome this situation,

To ask for forgiveness,

To encourage,

To be the best I can today,

To do well on this test,

To do well in this interview,

To be a good mom.

Whatever it may be, I know God is with me and has prepared the way before me. Praise GOD!

Today I pray, Lord, that the spirit comes over me, giving me peace and discernment about a decision or situation. Lord, I ask you to guide me into your will and remove any confusion. I know confusion is not from you, but from the enemy trying to take me off the path that you have laid out. Teach me Lord to know your ways, hear your voice, and follow your will.

Blessings,

Jill
