How God Wants Us to Live Our Lives

I happen to pull out my journals from years back and came across this from 2004. I was studying the book of Philippians and felt that God was showing me ways he wanted me to live my life, so I wanted to share with you. Has it always been easy. Oh NO! Have I always followed it? Oh NO! Thank God every day is new and If I don’t succeed I get to keep trying and trying for I don’t have to be perfect and GOD knows I won’t. It’s my heart he sees as I yearn to be more like him every day.

1. Grace (1:2) Give to others as God gives to you.  We are sinners and deserving of nothing yet God give us his Grace, his love and forgiveness.

2. Praying for other (1:3-4)

3. Be confident in God’s good works in you. Never give up hope for God has started something good in you and give his promise he will continue until the return of Christ.(1:6)

4. Stay Pure at heart. (1:10)

5. Do right. Being filled with the fruits of righteousness. I have been made right through the blood of Christ.  (1:11)

6. Endure all. Suffering is part of life. (1:29)

7. Follow the fathers will not matter what the cost. Christ died on the cross for us. (2:8)

8. Don’t compromise what you believe, stand firm in Christ no matter what. (2:30)

9. Be content/Do not murmur and complain. (2:14)

10. Watch your attitude and approach to life. Our attitude should be the same as Christ. we should live in a way so others will see God’s love in us. If we share in his suffering we should also share in his glory. (2:15)

11. Be humble. Pride is a sin. Give Glory to God. (2:3)

12. Don’t conform to this world. (2:15)

13. Beware of Evil. (3:2)

14. Be guided by the spirit/ not by the flesh. (3:3)

15. Don’t live in the past. Let go of shame and guilt. (3:13)

16. Have confidence in Christ for he is in control. Surrender to him and his will. (3:3)

17. Rejoice, be gentle, don’t worry, pray about everything and give thanks. (4:4-9)

18. Trust in Him . He promised he will supply all your needs. this is one of the most incredible promises in the bible.  (4:19)

19. Always rejoice in the Lord for he is awesome. (4:20)

20. Give your life to Christ and have fellowship with him. Know the power of his resurrection for your life. (3:10)

The question in Phillippians is not will you acknowledge Jesus as Lord but rather when! We can do it now and accept his payment for our sin and live in gratitude and obiedience or wait till its to late and pay the penalthy for our own sins.

I challenge you to read the book Philippians and study it. See what God puts on your heart and what you might need to change in your life. I know I had to change everything!

Blessings,

Jill
